Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota began in 1969 through the sponsorship of area service organizations to help at-risk children reach their full potential. We serve between 800 to 1,000 at-risk youth per year in our five-county service area (counties of Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Morrison and the northern tier of Wright County) by matching them in a one-on-one relationship with a caring and professionally trained volunteer who becomes a friend, a role model, and a mentor.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota helps youth to realize their potential by providing positive growth experiences through one-to-one mentoring relationships. It is our vision that youth mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters lead productive, compassionate lives that positively impact our world.
We have four designated core values that guide us in our efforts to fulfill our mission:
?Integrity: We operate with transparency to provide accountability and effectiveness.
?Safety: We provide an infrastructure that ensures the well-being of each child served.
?Quality: We deliver personalized services to achieve effective mentoring relationships.
?Trust: We develop respectful relationships in a healthy environment.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota offers three distinct program options: Community-Based, School-Based, and Site-Based mentoring.
